KHALSA EMBLEMS OF URITY AND COURAGE
Khalsa represents and symbolises values of humanism, universalism and liberealism.
Khalsa Panth was founded by Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji (10th Guru). 300th Anniversary of that divine moment fall in year 1999. Tercentenary is the befitting occasion to dedicate Khalsa Heritage Memorial to unmatched legacy of Khalsa.
Shir Anandpur Sahib is a pilgrimage centre. Number of pilgrims visit this place daily to pay obeisance at various shrines. Major magnets of the town are G. Keshgarh Sahib, G. Anandgarh Sahib, G.Bohra Sahib, G.Sisganj Sahib, G.Fatehgarh Sahib and Fort Anandgarh Sahib.
Site for Khalsa heritage Memorial lies half kms from G. Keshgarh Sahib. Site lies in the foot hills of Shivalik. It is an undulatary site forms by series of sandcliff promontories. Along the southern boundary of the site is the Anandgarh Fort which is the culmination of procession path, which originates from G.Keshgarh Sahib.

Introduction:
The Architecture of religious places involve not only spiritualism but also congregation of large masses, their movement & requirements. Also timely growth of these places & increasing numbers of pilgrims demand an upgraded infrastructure & more facilities adding a new dimension to whole exercise. Thus this project is an attempt to undertake this exercise for the needs of large masses with the aid of RESPONSIBLE VERNACULAR HILL ARCHITECTURE.
WHY REDEVELOPMENT OF DEOTSIDH TEMPLE COMPLEX ?
Deotsidh
Temple Complex is famous for the cave temple of SIDH BABA BALAKNATH dating
back to medieval period. It attracts million of devotees from India
& abroad Situated on the Deotsidhar range of Shivalik Hills, the complex
is 50 kms south of Hamirpur town and lies in proximity of Bhakra dam reservoir.
Maintained
by Govt. trust, the complex forms and integral part of social & festive
life of people. It is daily visited by 20000-25000 people during
melas (Summer) & 500 people otherwise. Various activities involve
prayers, satsangs, Langer, Melas, No – dowry marriages, mundans, badhais
(Greetings), Kudnoo ceremony, seminars on environment protection.
Objectives:
In
the light of the challenges faced by Deotsidh Temple Complex due to ever
increasing number of pilgrims and activities and thus continuos threats
to its spiritual and ecological identity, there is an urgent need to devise
strategies for INTEGRATION DEVELOPMENT which is the main objective of this
thesis.
Sports & Games
The College provides for many sports facilities. It has a Physical Fitness Centre which has a Multi-Station Machine for all-round physical fitness exercises.
Associations & Clubs
Students body “Chandigarh Association of Student-Architects” (CASA), exists in the College to promote student welfare and co-curricular activities. CASA is affiliated to the National Association of Students of Architecture (NASA) which holds an annual convention comprising design and studio-work competitions, exhibitions, literary, and cultural events. Due to the increase in the number of architectural institutions in the country, colleges have been classified into six zones which organise Zonal NASA in their respective zones. Alumni Association of Chandigarh College of Architecture (AACCA) has also been formed with a view to promote “Espirit-de-Corps” amongst the alumni and to help promote the developmental activities of its alma mater.
Placement CellThe placement cell of the college plays a key role in arranging suitable placements in jobs for the students . Several leading companies are invited to hold campus interviews to select graduates from the college . The cell serves as a vital link between the young graduates and the prospective employers .
