General Information

A.     The admission is made on the basis of the ALL INDIA ENGINEERING ENTRANCE EXAMINATION (AIEEE) conducted by the CBSE provided the candidates are otherwise eligible for admission to the Institution in terms of the eligibility conditions imposed by Punjab University .  The candidates who do not appear in AIEEE along with Architecture Aptitude Test or who do not qualify both, shall not be considered for admission to B.Arch.  Five-year Degree Course.  For detailed information about the course and the Institution, the applicants are advised to consult the college. The total intake of students is limited to 40 seats including five (5) seats reserved by Govt. of India for nominees of States/U.T.’s deficient in technical education facilities.

 GENERAL ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS 

(i)  ACADEMIC        

 (b)       For B. Arch Course

            The admission to the First Semester B.Arch. Course will be open to a candidate, who,

(i)         has qualified in the All India Engineering/Pharmacy/Architecture     Entrance Examination (AIEEE-2010), with Architecture Aptitude test conducted by the CBSE (See Note 1).

(ii)        has passed an examination at the end of the new 10+2 scheme of Senior School Certificate Examination or equivalent with Mathematics and English as subjects of examinations at the +2 level( not earlier than March/April- 2007) with minimum 50% marks in aggregate (See Note 2 & 3)

OR

            has passed 3-year diploma in Architecture(10+3)( not earlier than March/April- 2007) recognized by the Central/State Governments provided the candidate passed the Diploma examination with 50% marks in aggregate(See Note 2 & 3)

NOTE:          

1.    A candidate must secure a minimum of 15 percent marks in the All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE 2010) to qualify for admission.  However, candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes/Tribes and Physically Challenged categories shall be eligible if they secure a minimum of 10 percent of the maximum marks of AIEEE 2010.

2.    A candidate who gets a compartment in the +2/Diploma in architecture examination held in March/April 2010 will not be eligible for admission even if he/she clears the same (by appearing in the supplementary examination before the counseling date.

3.     Aggregate marks percentage in+2 or equivalent examination shall be worked out as suggested by the certificate awarding Board/University/Council.  If the Board/University/Council awards letter grades without providing the equivalent percentage of marks on the grade sheet, the candidate, should obtain a certificate from the respective Board/University/Council specifying equivalent percentage conversion formula, and submit at the time of counseling.  In the absence of such a certificate the decision of the JAC regarding his/her eligibility shall be final.

CHANDIGARH COLLEGE OF ARCHITECTURE, CHANDIGARH (CCA)

GENERAL ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS             

 (b)       For B.Arch Course

                      The admission to the First Semester B.Arch. Course will be open to a candidate, who, 

(ii)         has qualified in the All India Engineering/Pharmacy/Architecture     Entrance Examination (AIEEE-2010), with Architecture Aptitude test conducted by the CBSE (See Note 1).

(ii)        has passed an examination at the end of the new 10+2 scheme of Senior School Certificate Examination or equivalent with Mathematics and English as subjects of examinations at the +2 level( not earlier than March/April- 2007) with minimum 50% marks in aggregate (See Note 2 & 3)

OR

            has passed 3-year diploma in Architecture(10+3)( not earlier than March/April- 2007) recognized by the Central/State Governments provided the candidate passed the Diploma examination with 50% marks in aggregate(See Note 2 & 3)

            However, a candidate, who gets a compartment in the 10+2/Diploma in Architecture examination held in March/April 2010, will not be eligible for admission even if, he/she clears the same (by appearing in the supplementary examination) before the counseling date.

2.         Candidates who have passed the +2 examinations of Mahila Gram Vidyapith, Allahabad will not be considered for admission.

SEATS DISTRIBUTION

The total sanctioned intake is 40 seats including five seats allocated by the Ministry of Human resource Development (Department of Secondary & Higher Education), Government of India for nominees of States/U.T.’s deficient in technical education facilities.

NOTE:   1.      The above fee is subject to change as per instructions of Chandigarh Administration from time to time.

    2.   Financial assistance is available for meritorious students belonging to SC category under a scheme introduced by the Chandigarh Administration (Please refer to concerned page for the details of the scheme).

    3.     Vide Chandigarh Administration Memo.No.89-IH(2)-2010/3865 dated 3.3.2010, assistance in the form of full fee waiver to (i) one woman candidate, (ii) two economically weaker students (annual income of parents/guardians less than Rs.2.50 lakhs from all sources)  and (iii) one physically handicapped student, based on merit, shall be available from the session 2010-2011 onwards.   In case non availability of student/s in a specific category as mentioned above, the fee waiver shall be given to any other candidate, according to merit.

    4.     Adjustment/refund of exact amount of fee will be made by the Institute subsequent to admission and joining the class.
